Currently, Velux is the premier operable skylight manufacturer. Dome Inc. has adopted the solid curb frame design. With additional design considerations for dome angles as affected by ice, snow, and rain on skylights. Our sixth-generation custom skylights feature an exclusive our 4D aluminum frame.The skylight sits on a 4″ curb. The roof is shingled, step flashed up to the top of the curb, then the aluminum-framed glass unit is set on top of the curb, overlapping the flashing. Our windows are fixed closed.All windows are custom-made to fit a specific location on your dome. The welded frame weep system removes moisture if condensation forms inside the window. A water gutter collects condensation from the interior glass surface and drains it outside onto the shingled roof.Dome Inc.’s skylights use all stainless-steel fasteners and have a continuous thermal break. Overhead skylights meet Building Code requirements with a laminated inner safety pane. The standard skylight unit is double pane with Low-E Energy Coating inside the Argon gas-filled airspace. Exterior frame colors include Arctic White or Mocha Brown. Upgrade options include Triple Pane Glass, tint, Solar Cool Mirror tint, additional frame colors, and clear impact-proof polycarbonate. Glass skylights include a ten-year insulated seal warranty.
